FULL-DAY CONFERENCE Thursday, September 23, 2010 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Designed to Meet the Needs of GPs, LPs, & Managers of Buyout, Growth Equity, Mezzanine, & Lending Funds, as Well as Independent Sponsors, Operating Partners, Portfolio Company Managers, and the Bankers, Lawyers, Accountants, & Other Advisors Who Support Them Faculty | Schedule | Registration | Location | Sponsorship | Audio Package | In the current post-crisis environment, managers and directors of private equity firms’ portfolio companies have a considerable task on their hands -- increasing revenues and managing costs while at the same time preparing for a sale down the road.
Is it achievable? Absolutely. And at this Capital Roundtable conference, you’ll learn the wide range of tactics that PE firms are pressing their portfolio companies to use to drive topline revenues, streamline operations, improve cash flow, and ready companies for sale or IPOs.
To chair this full-day conference, we’re pleased to have Gary Matthews, managing director and operating partner at Morgan Stanley Private Equity in New York. He and 20 other portfolio company experts will share the latest thinking about the evolving role of operating partners at PE firms. They’ll compare different approaches that PE firms take, and the pros and cons of each.
You’ll hear how portfolio companies are expanding their toplines by using tools ranging from customer relation management (CRM) and loyalty reward programs, to social networking and digital marketing, including search engine optimization.
You’ll also get to explore leveraging organizational skills to find new business opportunities, licensing fallow brands, and using the latest software for operations improvement and demand forecasting.
You’re going to get the latest thinking on supply chain management, adopting more sophisticated IT systems/software, and benchmarking costs vs. competitors.
And you’ll learn what the leading PE firms are doing to drive cross-portfolio synergies. For example, more and more are exploring ways to pool purchasing among sister portfolio companies to drive volume discounts on insurance premiums, shipping costs, IT, and telecommunications.
What’s more, the leading firms are increasingly focused on cash flow management as they prepare their portfolio companies for exits in 2011 and 2012. This conference will cover the nuances of managing in the final months before the exit, preparing for a road show, and using current valuation techniques.
Importantly, this event will also spend time on key personnel decisions. Topics like recognizing signs of when to change out managers, contingency planning, how to maximize the value of search firms in finding qualified portfolio management talent, and state-of-the-art compensation approaches will all be discussed by industry leading experts.
These are just some of the concepts and ideas that you’ll be able to consider after attending this conference. Once again we’re assembling a stellar group of industry management experts for at this all-new, full-day conference from The Capital Roundtable --
