The commercial aerospace sector is on its strongest run ever -- a combination of cyclical recovery and secular strength in emerging market economies.

And defense spending is no longer perceived to be in danger of a long term decline.

What does all of this mean for private equity investors?

  • On the commercial side, investors can take advantage of tremendous visibility. The order books for airplane manufacturers are public, and the backlogs for commercial aircraft are at record levels. The biggest challenge now facing plane makers is to ramp up production to meet the record $1.8 trillion of orders they have booked for the coming decade.
  • On the defense side in the U. S., while appropriations are annual, program planning in the Executive Branch and authorizations in Congress provide insight into what the Executive Branch and the Congress are planning for defense spending years in advance.

Panelists at this conference from The Capital Roundtable will discuss both the commercial and defense aerospace sectors, and the various niches and subsectors within each.

You'll discover how to navigate the many opportunities in these sectors when you attend our ENCORE conference -- “Private Equity Investing in Aerospace Companies,” being held in New York City on Thursday, October 1.

Here Are Three Key Reasons Why You Should Join Us

  • Find out why more people have been moving into aerospace, including recent activity by pension plans and a continuing high level of activity by strategic buyers as well as private equity firms.
  • Hear which lenders are supportive of today's commercial and defense aerospace deals.
  • Identify which areas of commercial and defense aerospace are likely to hold the most promise for 2015-16.

Click here to receive our best rate -- a savings of $400 off our regular conference rate.

Aerospace OEMs need to plan their complex supply chain requirements years in advance, so suppliers that make avionics and components can forecast what must be made and delivered over the coming years. Predictability and stability count more with OEMs than switching suppliers to save a few pennies.

Register now to learn from industry CEOs, aerospace consultants, private equity investors, and transaction professionals from banks and law firms who are active in aerospace.

We’re delighted to welcome as chairman of this conference, Frank Nash, chief executive officer of ATL Partners -- a private equity fund that targets investments in aerospace, transportation, and logistics.

Frank formed ATL Partners in 2014, having previously served as a managing director at MidOcean Partners where he oversaw the industrial services investment team.  Before that, he ran Deutsche Bank’s investment banking platform in the Asia/Pacific region.

Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Frank was head of the global transportation and aerospace group at Bankers Trust/BT Alex Brown. Before that he worked with the U.S. State Department in Washington and in Singapore, negotiating financial and trade agreements on behalf of the U.S. Government.

Frank is a member of the Advisory Council of the Wounded Warriors Project, and on the College Cabinet of the College of Arts and Science at Vanderbilt University. He earned a BA from Vanderbilt University and an MA from American University.

This conference examines the must-know trends and all-important best practices that can help PE investors identify attractive targets, avoid mistakes, and make informed decisions about aerospace investment opportunities.

Our panelists will address a wide range of questions such as --

  • Where are investors in commercial and defense aerospace companies going to find the best opportunities in 2015 and 2016?
  • What are the metrics and valuation guidelines that can help you judge a commercial and defense aerospace opportunity? How do they differ as between commercial aerospace and defense aerospace?
  • What are the best practices for overseeing commercial and defense aerospace portfolio companies?
  • How can first-time investors in the commercial and defense aerospace sectors avoid traps and pitfalls?
  • What are the most important things a firm has to get right in order to maximize exit valuation for an investment in the aerospace sector?
  • How are aerospace industry regulations changing, and what signs should investors be watching for from Congress?

Three More Reasons Why You Should Join Us

  • Recognize which kinds of aerospace deals often go to strategics, and which are most likely for PE firms to win.
  • Learn how fuel prices are affecting ordering new airplanes and the future fortunes of the manufacturers.
  • Discover why heightened restrictions on cross-ownership are providing significant acquisition opportunities for middle-market PE firms.

Recent Middle-Market Aerospace Deals
