(see details below)

Back in the day, the task of finding new deals fell mostly on the shoulders of private equity firms’ partners -- not to mention the junior associates who made cold-calls to company owners.

That’s all changed.

More and more, successful PE firms rely on full-time, professional business development managers. The internet, not the telephone, is now the tool of choice for discovering new opportunities.

Also importantly, the playing field has changed.  For example, independent sponsors and family offices -- among the best friends of dealmakers -- are increasingly becoming their competitors.

At this full-day conference from The Capital Roundtable, you'll hear unique new ideas -- as well as variations on old ones -- from deal experts at leading middle-market PE firms, including --

  • How to harness LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media.
  • How to master relationships with managers of your portfolio companies for add-on opportunities.
  • How to leverage friendships with your peers at other PE firms.
  • How to use novel ways to work the rooms at conferences and trade shows.
  • How to develop unique relationships with standard sources like investment bankers and other intermediaries.
  • How to get support -- and recognition -- from deal partners in your own firm.
  • How to manage SalesForce and other online data resources.
  • How to approach limited partners and co-investors in effective ways.

Attend The Capital Roundtable’s ENCORE conference -- “Best Practices for Sourcing Private Equity Opportunities,” being held in New York City on Thursday, November 12.

Here Are Three Reasons Why You Should Join Us

  1. See why this conference was one of The Capital Roundtable’s most popular events in 2014.
  2. Discover what techniques other firms are using to prevent being outbid for key deals.
  3. Understand how to evaluate the off-the-beaten-path deals you might see from independent sponsors.

Register Now to Learn How to Leverage Resources

That Will Make You More Effective

You'll have a full day to discuss such topics as --

  • Has the momentum for recruiting full-time business development professionals amplified up?
  • Should business development professionals be generalists or specialists?
  • How can an advisor network be harnessed effectively?
  • How has the rise of family offices changed the competitive landscape for business development?
  • What expectations do LPs typically have today about a firm's deal sourcing strategies?
  • How important are investment bankers in today's deal sourcing activities?
  • What are the techniques PE firms use to find companies for sale before they’re put up for sale?
  • How can deal origination professionals best leverage industry memberships and other connections with associations?
  • How critical have strategic marketing and communications plans become?
  • How can business development professionals best coordinate efforts with their firms’ dealmakers?

Three More Reasons Why You Should Join Us

  1. Learn how firms are finding ways to source deals online despite  FINRA restrictions on social media communications.
  2. Realize why the family office that used to be your valued LP or co-investor can suddenly become a fierce competitor.
  3. Find out how other firms benefit from mining the resources of their advisor networks.
