In today’s for-profit education marketplace, investors who truly understand the space, and what drives value, are finding that disruption can bring dividends.

Investors are encouraging education providers to restructure debt, sell and lease back real estate, implement efficiency improvements … even improve relationships with regulators who worry about the cost-benefit gap of the schools’ curriculums.

In addition, investors are increasingly focusing on the service provider companies that are targeting for-profit education -- from marketing and enrollment services to course instruction and fundraising.

In short, after a rough patch, the future of the for-profit marketplace is brightening, and this Capital Roundtable conference will highlight the ways many middle-market investors are doing well.

Twenty for-profit education experts will provide sound insights and revealing forecasts.

Here Are Three Reasons Why You Should Join Us

  1. Find out best practices for creating maximum flexibility and outcomes for students.
  2. Discover how all types of education providers are successfully controlling costs and lowering prices.
  3. Understand the impact of recent key changes in the federal government’s interpretation of gainful employment.

From Jeff Keith & 20 Other Industry Specialists

Jeff is an operating partner at Chicago-based Sterling Partners, a $5 billion private equity firm focusing on the education marketplace. He has more than twenty years of experience leading finance and operations teams, with a wide range of senior executive roles under his belt.

Currently, Jeff serves as chairman of Sterling portfolio companies -- Spartan College of Aeronautics, Tribeca Flashpoint Academy, and Educate Online. He is also a Director at Ashworth College. Previously, Jeff served as CFO and EVP of TCS Education System. He holds MBA and BS degrees in economics and management from Purdue University, and an MS in finance from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Jeff and our panelists will answer important questions such as these --

  • How many for-profit education companies are undergoing some sort of restructuring? What are the lessons learned from those in progress?
  • What industry developments have the potential to sparkplug middle-market for-profit education companies in 2015?
  • Which outsourced service providers are making the most inroads with educational institutions?
  • Is consolidation going to be an important factor with for-profit educational institutions? What size footprints are most desirable?
  • Which sectors within for-profit education are poised to recover earliest? K-12? Professional training? Education content? Technology?
  • What are the best practices for overseeing for-profit education portfolio companies?
  • What metrics and valuation guidelines can help you judge a middle-market for-profit education company deal?

Go Behind the Tombstones of Notable Middle-Market Industry Deals

Our chair and panelists will share their knowledge of transactions such as --

  • Providence Equity Partners’ portfolio company Blackboard Inc. acquiring Perceptis, a provider of student help desk and support services.
  • EQT Partners’ portfolio company AcadeMedia acquiring Espira, an operator of 75 pre‑schools.
  • Summit Partners-backed company RuffaloCODY, a provider of fundraising and enrollment management services for higher education, acquiring consulting services provider Noel-Levitz.
  • Serent Capital’s investment in Diamond Mind, a provider of payment services for schools.
  • Spectrum Equity’s growth funding of ExamSoft, a provider of educational assessment solutions.
  • Linden Capital Partners’ acquisition of Spear Education, a provider of post-graduate dental education.

Three More Reasons Why You Should Join Us

  1. Learn the reasons why for-profit companies such as Rasmussen College have become Public Benefit Corporations (B-Corps).
  2. Hear how institutions are reducing their real estate holdings and putting empty classrooms and labs to paying use.
  3. Recognize why for-profit education companies are mentoring and funding education startups.
