While traditional distribution companies focus on moving boxes of things around warehouses and highways, middle-market specialty distributors focus on adding value --
a lot of it -- to their customers' supply chains.

That's why these companies are increasingly being sought after by investors --
and their premium valuations prove it.

Specialty distribution companies can be found among all the vertical markets where private equity firms have demonstrated expertise.

At this all-new conference from The Capital Roundtable, you’ll hear from middle-market firms about the characteristics of successful distribution companies, including --

  • Which models are critical to being successful across the various channels.
  • Defining the industries that benefit the most from the specialty distribution model.
  • Best practices for operating specialty distribution companies.

Whether you're an experienced investor in specialty distribution or looking to make your first foray, you'll welcome the insights and information provided when you attend The Capital Roundtable’s brand-new conference -- “Private Equity Investing in Specialty Distribution Companies,” being held in New York City, Thursday, October 22.

Here Are Several Reasons Why You Should Join Us

  1. Discover why double-digit EBITDA is the norm, not the exception, among today's middle-market specialty distribution deals.
  2. Discover which models  are poised to succeed and which models are at risk of failing in the evolving specialty distribution sector.
  3. Find out which sectors are most conducive to specialty distributors sourcing and selling their own brands.

Click here to receive your best rate -- a savings of $400 on our regular conference rates.

Register Now to Meet John F. Cozzi
And More Than 20 Specialty Distribution Experts & Investors

Chairing the conference is John Cozzi, partner and co-head of the small business funds group of AEA Investors LP -- a leading global middle market private equity firm operating five offices on three continents, managing approximately $6 billion of invested and committed capital.

John joined AEA in 2004. He currently serves as a board member of Colony Hardware, Evans Delivery, Galco, and Troxell Communications. He also served on the boards of former AEA portfolio companies Implus Footcare, In the Swim, Industrial Controls Distributors, National Rehab, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies, PLZ Aeroscience, and Sextant Education.

Before joining AEA, John was a managing director at Arena Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in small companies in the consumer and business services sectors. Previously, he was a managing director in the leveraged finance group of Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior to that, he worked at Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. and NYNEX Corp.

John earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA (Honors) in economics and computer science from Union College.

Register Now to Master the Challenges of Specialty Distribution

With its two primary themes of stability and acquisition growth, specialty distribution is on the radar of virtually all middle-market investors. Yet, it has its own set of complexities that makes it more formidable, and possibly challenging, than it first appears.

By attending this conference, you'll hear John and our knowledgeable panelists answer such questions on your mind as --

  • What are the typical multiples of recent specialty distribution deals? Why have they expanded faster than virtually every other segment?
  • Which specific markets offer the greatest opportunities for specialty distributors to grow and prosper?
  • What are today's most successful specialty distribution companies doing to make themselves invaluable to customers?
  • Between physical branches, field reps, telephone sales, catalogs and ecommerce, which channels are expected to shine brightest in 2016?
  • How are specialty distribution companies using big data to improve supply chain productivity?
  • How do you make your company Amazon-proof?
  • Will specialty distribution companies benefit or become marginalized as 3D printing of one-of-a-kind parts takes off in the future?
  • Are specialty distribution companies always small and fragmented, or can they become large and constantly expanding?
  • What are the most important things a firm has to get right when planning to exit a specialty distribution investment? What are realistic time horizons?
  • Where do newcomers to investing in specialty distribution companies often make mistakes, and how can the traps and pitfalls be avoided?

Three More Reasons Why You Should Join Us

  1. Learn how specialty distribution companies are helping their clients compete by providing targeted marketing assistance.
  2. Realize why the real key to specialty distribution is human capital management.
  3. Hear how different companies are determining whether their distribution model should be sales rep-focused, eCommerce-focused, or a combination of both.

Recent Middle-Market Specialty Distribution Deals

  • CI Capital Partners portfolio company Maroon Group's acquisition of D.B. Becker Co. Inc., a distributor of specialty chemicals.
  • North Branch Capital portfolio company Motion Solutions' acquisition of Specialty Motions Inc., a distributor of linear motion and motion control solutions.
  • Atlantic Merchant Capital Investors' investment in Folio Holdings LLC, a data analytics and distribution services company serving the film industry.
  • Marlin Equity Partners' acquisition of International Business Systems, a provider of enterprise resource planning and supply chain management software to the distribution industry.
  • AEA Investors LP’s acquisitions of Galco Industrial Electronics, Inc., a direct marketer of industrial electronic components and Fluid Flow Products Inc., a distributor of process control and fluid handling products.
