While sequestration is making some investors nervous, the U.S. Federal Government is the world’s largest buyer of goods and services.  It consists of hundreds of separate agencies with their own unique missions and priorities and tremendous buying power...

Smart contrarian investors are finding value in areas related to helping the Government do more with less, and knowledgeable growth investors are pursuing opportunities in the corners of the budget still poised for exponential growth such as Cyber Security, Big Data, ISR and others.

And, from a common sense standpoint, even where budgets are restricted, readiness and effectiveness are not.  For example, where spending is curtailed on brand-new weapons platforms, the push is on for stretching the usefulness of existing aircraft and vehicles with better sensors, digital equipment, and visualization systems.

A strong knowledge of the industry dynamics is essential to picking the right investment opportunities.  You’ll find out how to make your own marketplace impact when you attend The Capital Roundtable’s ENCORE conference -- “Private Equity Investing in Defense, Government Services, & Aviation Companies,” being held in New York City on Thursday, July 18th.

REGISTER NOW to learn more about --

  • Cybersecurity -- the perennial high-priority area (and subject of its own in-depth Capital Roundtable conference just last month.) Today, it’s even hotter as the FCC has just released regulations requiring companies to publicly disclose cyber attacks.
  • Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance -- benefiting from the changeover from boots on the ground to eyes in the sky.
  • Cloud Computing -- being aggressively funded as a way for many government agencies to save large sums.
  • Critical Infrastructure Protection -- hardening the perimeters around utility facilities such as pipelines and refineries, remote military bases, and other vulnerable assets. This is welcome news for providers of advanced technology such as fiber optics, infrared cameras, and unattended sensors.
  • Healthcare Information Technology -- a huge area with the U.S. military and U.S. veteran’s administration -- the numbers one and two health provider networks.
  • Data Analytics -- helping government agencies and external companies detect fraud, waste, and abuse by mining data to identify trends and patterns.

With the defense, government services, and aviation sector going through the greatest degree of change it’s experienced in over a decade, this is an extremely opportune time for knowledgeable PE investors to make moves.

And, at this encore conference from The Capital Roundtable, you’ll pick up the knowledge you need for success, which will be particularly valuable if you’re new to the market and navigating the complexities of the government community.

Just consider --

  • If your portfolio ignores the companies who sell into the federal government, you’re ignoring 18% of the U.S. GDP.
  • In real dollar terms, the U.S. defense marketplace alone has a budget north of $500 billion.
  • A shortage of overall buyers has pushed multiples in the space approximately 30-40% below their peak in 2007.
  • This is the best industry segment to own when seeking a hedge against macro-economic shocks or geopolitical threats from North Korea, Iran, Syria, and others.

Throughout the third and fourth quarters of 2013 and into 2014, the temporary dislocation in the market will create tremendous investment opportunities.

And the debt market is fully supportive. During the recession, the one saving grace in most lenders’ portfolios was the government sector -- and they haven’t forgotten that.

REGISTER NOW TO LEARN  6 important reasons you should come to this conference --

  • Understand how to react to and benefit from the new normal in the defense industry.
  • Hear from the CTO of the CIA why new government regulations and trends will be feeding business within the cybersecurity and data analytics sectors.
  • Realize which segments of defense, government services, and aviation have significant upside over the next 5 to 7 years.
  • Learn why shared savings programs with government agencies can be highly profitable.
  • Recognize how to take advantage of the temporary misallocation in the space between buyers and sellers.
  • Discover how to best conduct due diligence on government deals.

To chair this timely conference, we’re delighted to welcome Jason F. Rigoli, principal and head of the Washington office of LLR Partners, a leading middle-market private equity firm with over $2 billion under management.

Jason joined Monument Capital in 2011, and is responsible for investment and portfolio company oversight. He leads and directs deal-related activities including sourcing, negotiation, financing, closing, value creation, and exits. Jason has a track record of over $1.2B in transaction value across 20 deals.

Previously, Jason was a principal with The White Oak Group, a private equity fund focused on the middle market of the global homeland security and defense space. From 2005 through 2007 he was a senior vice president with Freidman Billing Ramsey Capital Markets where he led M&A in the aerospace, defense, and government services industries. Prior to FBR, Jason spent more than a decade in senior operations and corporate development roles for large government contractors, including more than seven years with Pearson Government Solutions.

He also served as the president of the National Capital Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, and serves on the boards of two defense contractors.

Jason earned an MBA with an emphasis in finance from Columbia Business School, and an additional MBA with an emphasis in global business operations from London Business School.

REGISTER NOW TO HEAR  20 Experts with the Secrets for Success

This conference on July 18th will bring you four panel discussions featuring shared insights from twenty top PE professionals who are all successful investors in defense, government services, and aviation companies. You’ll hear from GPs, operating executives, investment bankers, lenders, consultants, and more -- offering real-world perspectives, lessons learned, and industry outlooks, plus insights on managing current portfolio companies.

Plus, you will find out about recent notable industry deals including --

  • Corridor Capital’s acquisition of three aerospace-services platform companies from Los Angeles-based Churchill Investments.
  • Pegasus Capital Group’s acquisition of San Diego-based SANTIER, a manufacturer of metal matrix composites for the aerospace market.
  • DC Capital Partners’ acquisition of Bethesda-based Catapult Technology, a contracting company providing IT services to government agencies.

By attending this Capital Roundtable conference, you’ll be able to seize the advantage when competitive opportunities come your way. We’ll be answering such questions as --

  • Which specific market segments offer the best promise for 2013 and 2014?
  • Will there be long-term effects from 2013’s sequestration order?
  • What are the opportunities to exploit from government bans on certain foreign equipment manufacturers, such as telecom switches from China?
  • What is the potential for investments in overseas companies and providers that support U.S. armed forces?
  • How can you profit by monitoring and reacting early to signals from the Department of Defense?
  • Why are lenders eager to finance defense and government deals?
  • What are the most common misconceptions about defense, government services and aviation investing … and what is the reality?
  • How can first-time investors in the sector avoid traps and pitfalls?
  • What are the best practices of managing portfolio companies in the sector?
  • How should you be preparing your current portfolio companies for exits?
